In past years, the interest in SPACs as a financing vehicle has been cyclical and centered on more mundane industries. The current round of transactions - centered on high tech startups - has been different. More like venture capital deals, except that now they are open to small investors. Arguably, the democratization of venture capital. A lot of them will fail, but technologies will be advanced.

Obama took a lot of heat for funding private solar initiatives with public money. Biden can sit back and watch his EV initiatives financed by private capital.

Hoping all this craziness takes us "one step closer to economic equilibrium",

The pandemic has highlighted and widened our economic disparities. While many have prospered, the pandemic has permanently wiped out millions of jobs at the lower end. That issue needs to be addressed, though it is hard to envision how that can happen given our current political environment.
