Watching this guy try to explain what happened makes me realize How like fox news, Barrons has become. Lets have opinions rather than facts. This week it had at least 6 separate articles discussing the gamestop squeeze and not one article talked about the role of the cleaning houses in this. To me it seems clear that the clearinghouses instigated most the actions of the brokerage houses that resulted in investors not being able to purchase stocks. and once again the SEC will end up with egg on their faces for their abominable regulation of these clearinghouses. Meanwhile Barrons ,which I now read mostly for entertainment value, once again demonstrates how run down it has become. .I wish the financial analysis in Barrons were half as good as the football analysis on nfl live.

My feeling watching the IKBR guys' interview was that he said a little more than he should've. Exposed black holes in the system that people should know about (from their POV). Might cause serious problems, if the WSB folks should be able to keep *holding the line*.

Kind of crazy to think how they could not be prepared for something like this, crazy as it may be. It's like a bank not having enough money to pay their customers' loans (oh yeah, that's right, none of them ever have...) But peoples poor preparedness has stopped shocking me after covid ("no one saw it coming" yeah right... that's what they always say, and it's almost always untrue... And it's not like we didn't have precursors – SARS, H4N1, Ebola, etc. etc. etc. – which should've made us think that "hey, maybe we should have some kind of plan?") Seems like humans are just really really poor looking more than 1 week ahead.I

...And à propos margin, i had a hunch when I first read the word in connection to GME that there were some potential for 1929 like stuff –– well, after what went down this past week, basically all the signs of hyper-mania has been ticked off.
