Most of those "double digit gains" are catchups for the Asian markets that were closed for New Years. Note that South Korea is down 6%. That said, the SEA situation is starting to work itself out. Equip suppliers take some hits in the form of delayed orders, workout measures allow others to keep buying at reduced levels, semi prices are firming as excess capacity is absorbed and inventory is worked down, and as usual the system is correcting itself. Predictions of depression in the equipment industry are likely to prove overblown. Again!
