They clearly had no idea how to handle a basic peaceful protest. As a result, it turned slightly rowdy and Capitol police exacerbated it making it deadly.

I would say the top leader is the problem, but she is the biggest single problem in DC today.

1800 cops couldn't block out maybe a thousand, maybe fewer, largely peaceful protestors without murdering one.

This is not the first incident in which the cops failed miserably.

So, perhaps some retraining, or some different personnel are called for.
