Hi MF

That is very good news.

My doctor will be calling me today to discuss and I have a mind to rip her to shreds for putting me through all this crap. In my opinion the CMA and GPs have really dropped the ball by doing almost all things by phone. Phone diagnoses for possible heart issues? I don't frigging think so

I am with you on this... on my side doctors are more willing it see you now. For almost a year, I have not seen my GP or diabetes people.

My GP has an excuse...he lives/works in Lethbridge, Alberta...a 2 hour drive to Calgary. Before Covid he would come to the clinic here once per week. He is Russian and apparently many Russian/Ukrainian immigrants live in my area...we even have a Russian deli here. They like him as he speaks their language so they can communicate their problems easily to him...whereas they have trouble talking to English doctors.

He is very personable...even funny at times.

He talked to me about exercising more.... I told him I was lifting a moderate amount of weight regularly. He told me to flex my biceps and he smiled saying

"Yes...yes....I feel a little muscle here but you must do more..... dancing is good for you."

I replied "Dancing would be nice but I don't have a partner"

He dropped to the floor and pantomimed rowing on a machine.

"Then you must take up rowing then....it exercises almost your whole body....very good exercise"

I smiled at his actions....unfortunately gyms are closed to the public right now....but I intend to try it....He is a good guy.

Yes...we deserve our beers...looking forward to them.

Hi MF

During my heart tests (which have now been confirmed to be normal for my age) I had an epiphany. COVID attacks the heart and arteries normally with clots etcetera. Well 3 months before my attack I had 2 stents put in and as a result I was taking blood thinners and plavex to prevent clots. I mentioned this to my heart specialist and he agreed that these meds prevented problems with my heart during COVID. He then told me to continue taking these meds for another year.

One cure helping another problem perhaps.

My biggest problem now is I have problems figuring out which disease is causing what symptom.

I have a mixture of diabetes and covid symptoms {sigh}.

I agreed with my diabetes doctor that I had to do something to reign in my blood sugars... they decided that I should take yet another drug, Ozempic. Apparently this drug helps your body produce its own insulin and also helps the heart....I agreed to a 2 month trial.

So far it has been great for my heart... my blood pressure has dropped to normal now. My appetite has been suppressed, I sleep better now (4-5 hours instead of 3) and I have a normal thirst now (I was drinking so much fluids I was whizzing every 2-3 hours...now 4-5 hours) ...all good but my Blood sugars remain the same (high)...{sigh}

In fairness the trial has just started and there are adjustments to my other diabetes meds and insulin probably will be done. I have a BP cuff, blood O2% gadget and glucometer so I am tracking my readings constantly now and giving them feedback on the results.

I do feel better on many fronts except for the BS...my sugar readings are not really worse but not better.

I think this is a new drug and I only take it one shot per week.... If it works great!!! but I feel like a lab rat.
