Hi EKS....

Hope China stockpiles for awhile longer....They are the market, so hope they don't flip the switch to the off position to soon! It will be interesting to see what Chinese New Year (2/11 to 2/17) does to trade this year?

I see Putin has decided to double his grain export taxes starting March 1st....

From what I read....about 60% of our fish/seafood is raised in fish-farms....More and more coming from land based RAS/controlled (clean) systems....

It is all about the protein....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The aquaculture/fish related companies I currently own:

MOWI.OL / MHGVY (have held shares since 2012, they have had a rough time the last two years)

ASA.OL / AASZF ( based main facility down near Miami, its all about the aquifer structure and being close to the customers)

SALM.OL / SALRY

ISLAX.OL - Iceland, 51% shares owned by Salmar

PROXI.OL - My entry into Japan (Best estimates have locally raised fish/seafood production costs at 30/40% lower than shipping in from foreign lands)

IFISH.OL - Iceland

Sold for nice gains last year/this year, some of these have ADR's but little to no volume:

AQB - US Based

HLF.TO - Canada

AKVA.OL

NTS.OL

In 2019 I traded:

SAN.NZ & TGR.AX for smaller gains.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

About 40% of my total holdings/companies are based overseas, I own via ADR's or if no ADR, I will buy directly via FID & IB if available. I think it is worth paying a few hundred extra dollars to own quality companies, or companies/business in sectors that don't exist in the US, (Fishing, mining, and Ag come to mind....Not much to choose from here in America).

I added FFARM.AS to my Ag stuff today + added more shares to TVEAT.TL today.

I have had to file taxes quarterly since 2Q 2010, (due to not being employed, investments, small business income + being landlord and a trustee for two trusts), the FTC + Franked/Stapled shares and DRP plans and Withholding Tax Rates info come in handy! I still let the pro's complete my taxes though.

Have a good one!
