Street,
Just finished my trading station which I built myself. I spent $1578 on the components. I have a fastcom Cisco router for Frame relay link to data/trading servers, Cyrix PR 200 processor, World 8Igct mother board with 64mg edoRam, 4.0Windows NT. 8xcdrom, Viper Diamond Graphics Card and a 16bit SB card. KISS keep it simple stupid method. the rate limiter is the NT 4.0 which has limited Multimedia capacity. It accomodates highend graphics but low end CDROM and Sound. The router is key for speed and was the most expensive.
$700 Router
$ 0 8x cdrom from old computer
$300 NT4.0
$250 processor + mother board+64mg Ram
$ 29 Tower
$ 0 SB card old computer
$ 0 monitor 21 inch old used Nec 5D cost $350 used
$200 5gig wdc hard drive
$ 99 etherlink card

My system screams and it took me 1hour to build and the bitch was because I never configured NT 10+ hours to set up. NT does not accomodate high end Multimedia so do not struggle with it.
