Natl Semi sees revenue growth in high teens

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 27 (Reuters) - National Semiconductor Corp chief financial officer Donald Macleod said that the company is on track for revenue growth this fiscal year ranging from the high teens to 20 percent. Macleod told a NationsBanc Montgomery Securities Technology Conference that National Semi will grow faster than the overall industry, because industry growth rates include revenues from volatile memory chips and programmable logic devices. The revenue growth forecast includes sales from National Semi's recently acquired Cyrix unit, but Cyrix will continue to be dilutive to earnings through the remainder of fiscal 1998, the CFO said. Cyrix will begin to contribute to earnings in fiscal 1999. National Semi also sees other areas of growth, including its networking products, analog chips and other communications products.
