Dennis and all:
Finally got to catch up on some reading and while scanning the articles in Smart Money(Feb), guess who's name I saw list under the "Underachievers Club-No Lose Proposition" entrants? Ok, ok it wasn't a hard question but heading the list of three situations was Grand Casinos and CEO Lyle A. Berman.

"The company took a $150M writeoff and saw its stock fall from $39 to $9. CEO Berman suffered, too, as millions of dollars in options he held suddenly became worthless. At least temporarily. The options had been priced at $32, but the companies board lowered the price to $11, essentially making Berman whole again. Too bad they couldn't do that for their shareholders." Company response: "Lyle is dedicated to shareholder value," say spokeswoman Jaye Snyder. "That mission statement hangs on our walls."

His '96 pay was $18.2 million!

Have a nice day!
