Hi Bobby - why the money is jumping into Asia is beyond me. Must say this was a surprise. The only explanation I can think of is the weaker currencies are viewed as being better for business and earnings.

That would lend further support to the "competing currency devaluation" thesis as U.S. businesses unable to compete might suggest a policy of dollar devaluation at some point.

But I don't know why anyone would invest in a region with a cascading series of bankrupticies and no clear idea who owes whom how much. Indonesia stocks for e.g. up 14% even though with Rupiah at recent levels every publicly traded co. is bankrupt.
