He has no rational explanation for having done this. Has not even offered one AFAIK. I don't know if he offered one or not. Wasn't paying attention. But I don't see why one would be necessary. The issue has been around for a long time and the positions laid out. It was his side's turn to turn the tables. It was a campaign promise. No explanation needed for that, other than to you, of course. I can't believe you didn't see that coming. I think he might have framed it better, not put it out there naked in the package of first-day flips. That seemed a bit dismissive in tone to me. But the result would have been the same.

This Empty Suit President put 10s of thousands of people out of perfectly good jobs, Nonsense. Why do you lie so much? The highest number that would be employed is around 11,000. Which is far short of "10s of thousands". Even then, the overwhelming vast majority of those jobs would be only a few months. Maybe 50 would be permanent. statesman.com
