What a ridiculous type of argument.

X law was passed. People objected. I say it wasn't a reasonable objection.
Y law was passed. Again people objected. So its obviously not a reasonable objection.
So even if you imagine there is no harm in offering up your children on Craigslist as labourers, it is illegal.
1 - There isn't any evidence that the mother offered up her child as a worker. Apparently it was the child's imitative not the mothers.

2 - No its not something that's clearly illegal.

3 - If it is/was illegal it shouldn't be. Nothing obviously or even at all sensible about stopping that girl from making a bit of extra money doing some light housework.
