The thing about Republicans calling themselves the party of Lincoln galls me above most other of their lies. The Republican party, as you know, was the liberal party in those days, the northern free states and the Democratic party was the southern "slave states". One has to use liberal versus conservatives as the party changed places in the early 1900's with Wilson being our first liberal Democratic president. It was a bad start as Wilson was both an ass hole and racist, so I start the clock with FDR :)>. Lincoln was one of ours, a full blown liberal. But as the Republicans never get anything right, they have to lie about everything. They have been a cesspool party for 100 years since Hoover.
