Next-Generation IDT FourPort SRAM Provides Increased Bandwidth for Multiprocessor Environments Single-Chip Solution Simplifies Memory Requirement for Complex Designs SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 1998--Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT), the industry's leading supplier of specialty memories, today introduced the newest members of the FourPort(TM) SRAM family. Both the IDT7052 and IDT7054 boast access times as fast as 20 ns, providing up to 1.6 Gbps throughput. The newly enhanced four-port devices reduce part count and increase system performance by allowing simultaneous access to the data by up to four processors at a time. As the industry's only true four-ported single-chip SRAM, IDT's FourPort can be used in multiprocessor environments such as digital signal processing, base stations, medical imaging, RAIDs, PBXs and digital media workstations to execute and accelerate computing operations among several processors working on a common data set. ''IDT continues to strengthen its presence in the MultiPort SRAM market,'' said Carl May, IDT specialty memory products marketing manager. ''With the introduction of our latest FourPort, we have developed highly-integrated single-chip solutions to meet the needs of the market. These solutions provide designers with increased density and speed advantage at a significant cost savings.'' Accelerates Time to Market The arrival of a fast FourPort single-chip SRAM speeds the computing operation that may be executed in parallel by multiple processors. Serving as both a complex four bus interconnect network and fast ''parallel'' memory, the IDT FourPort can effectively facilitate multiple processing. Compared to a multiplexed SRAM or an ASIC solution, where increased board space and design time is required, the IDT FourPort provides an integrated high-performance solution that is characteristic of IDT's specialty memories. ''The FourPort family is the ideal choice to a problem that would otherwise require many components or an ASIC to achieve,'' said May. ''The new devices double the memory size and decrease the access time, offering more capability than our previous generations.'' Packaging, Pricing and Availability The FourPort products are available in a variety of packages. Production quantities are currently available. Additional pricing information can be obtained through local IDT sales offices and authorized sales representatives and distributors.
