ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 1998--Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, today announced that former Intel Corp. executive G. Carl Everett Jr. has joined Dell as senior vice president of its desktop and workstation computer business.

Mr. Everett, 47, is responsible for developing and marketing of Dell's desktop and workstation products worldwide, a business that has grown at a compound annual rate of more than 40 percent over the past three years.

"Carl's experiences in the front line of the evolution and application of the microprocessor over the past 20 years add an important dimension to our management team," said Michael S. Dell, chairman of the board and chief executive officer. His leadership and skills in marketing and operations will help us further develop our exceptionally strong brand position in the desktop and workstation business."

At Intel, Mr. Everett was senior vice president and general manager of the world's largest microprocessor maker's desktop products group until January 1997.
