The cool thing about the USD and Bit Coin is neither currency is backed by anything.

Perhaps, but the U.S. Federal Government has unlimited taxing authority, as was demonstrated after WWII when the highest income earners paid over 90% on their marginal income. In a nuclear war between Bitcoin and the USD, my money is on the dollar. There will, however, be a lot of collateral damage in such a war.
