I suppose I'm now in the gallows humour camp having been delivered there over recent years by untoward personal tragedy. If things are going to go bad, in a way I want them to happen on my watch so that I can watch what happens, up close and personal, rather than live in benign bliss unable to do anything about the tsunamis before and as they arrive. Having been in the game for decades now, with burgeoning debts in fully freely floating financial relativity theory, I'm very curious about how it all pans out. We've now been right here in SI discussing said TeoTwawki and Darkest Interregnum for 20 years. It's now turning to up close and personal even as the process has been accelerating for those 20 years without any particularly calamitously catastrophic cataclysm though some thought 2008 was problematic and the predictable glitch of Y2K following a decade of irrational exuberance and the birth of Cyberspace was disconcerting to others. The years of Silicon Investor aka the birth of Cyberspace back in 1993 following a few decades of DARPA, Domain Name Servers, computers and optical fibre, with solid state physics seething in the quantum world have been the most phenomenal fantasmagoria not just in human history, all combined, but across biological history, including the invention of sexual reproduction and even back to the invention of the twisted pair DNA which was a pretty good invention. But we need to go all the way back to the invention of the Four Forces of the Apocalypse to really get the scale and scope of what the last few decades have delivered and are likely to make manifest in the next few. The four forces enabled DNA to deliver biological intelligence [us]. Now DNA [us] is bouncing back to deliver AI, in full quantum computing power. Which will enable genetic engineering on a grand scale to bootstrap humans to a whole new world. We don't know where we're going, but we're on our way. Pretty quickly at that. I'd point out though that bitcoin is just a half baked attempt at the real thing, which I've been working on for a few decades. It's now pretty well ready to go. Qualcomm has delivered 5G mobile Cyberspace which is a foundation block to enable the juicy parts. Bitcoin is just a less dumb alternative to USD [et al] [per Elon Musk]. Mqurice
