Nevin: I didn't bash you. I corrected you for stating the following:

>>>>To all regarding .40 eps estimate for 1998. First of all, I own a substantial position in
CYMI and hope to see this company do well in the upcomming year. Secondly what
I'm about to post is not my view but that of an analyst that follows this market segment
and CYMI closely. <<<<<

Then you proceeded to write your view, reading much into the statement of the analyst.

Nevin,
I would definitely agree with you that analyst earnings forecast for this stock do seem to be on the low side. One of the more significant variables that we haven't really been able to factor into the equation is the potential exponential revenue growth in service and spare parts that could take place in the coming quarters. This is due to the fact that CYMI is getting more and more systems out into the semiconductor manufacturing world which will ultimately generate additional HIGH MARGIN revenues which will translate into HIGHER EPS growth than previously expected. Granted, it might not happen next quarter, but the stock market doesn't really care about next quarter, their worried about 1999 and beyond! Please read my post on this subject back at #13844 to get a feel for what I'm talking about. I am in the semiconductor industry and understand the positive impact that billable service and spare parts can have on a companies bottom line. Believe me, the rocket scientist analyst that cover this stock HAVE NOT factored this into CYMI's future bottom line or their not telling us and trying to frontrun before they upgrade the stock! If anyone would like to challenge that statement please drop me a line. Nevin, if your thinking about buying more shares I wouldn't wait to long if I were you. Thanks for your post and good luck!

Lex

Nevin is right ... let's not jump every time someone put's forth a view different from the one we hold. We always need to look at our stocks from all angles. It's then up to the individual to decide what they think is true or not, short term or long, long or short :)

TG, If Nevin was saying the same thing over and over again without content then perhap someone should say something. As I see it his comments are valid. He is only looking at the other side of the coin to make sure we bulls are not missing something.

I personally am hoping for our beloved cymer to hit 12, 10, 8 (in my dreams)? Why? Because even though it means a sustantial paper loss for my current holdings I can buy more.

I'm not looking at June. I'm looking at 1999 and, trust me, I doing it with wide eyes and a big (greedy) smile.

>>>The question I have is, will the street get behind this company this year or will money managers wait until next year?<<< This stock was a good "story stock" last year, and the "story" drove the price up like a rocket. The "street" sold and made money. Now the story's been told, and until there's a NEW story to excite people, I would expect the stock's price to follow other stocks in this industry.
