Would you expect to see the banks that "are the dollar"... joining in on the attempt to kill the dollar ?

No. They'll play the game "Full employment and 2% inflation" only so far. Their measurement of inflation doesn't include stock market and speculative panic mania to get anything except USD, or house prices.

Bitcoin wants USD dead. They are now worth $2 trillion [all Cybermoney] with just bitcoin heading towards $2 trillion. That's more than a nitpick. That's an actual wound.

Ironically, if the Fed banks and US government try to smash bitcoin, that could make it really take off fast as hordes flee to safety. People can hide their wallets and computers. NSA spying can't catch them.

The Fed banks need the goose to keep laying golden eggs. They do not wish to kill it. US government needs USD to remain pre-eminent too. But they are between rocks and hard places. They are stuck between relentless, inevitable, merciless with no way out other than rediscovering VVV. Or going full Zimbabwe/Argentina/French Revolution.
