Micrex Development Corporation -

Evaluation of aeromagnetic data completed

Micrex Development Corporation MIXShares issued 10721224

Mr Perry Meszaros reports Micrex announces today the evaluation of the aeromagnetic data flown by Spectra Geoscience of Calgary on a portion of its diamond exploration properties has been completed. A total of 84 target anomalies have been identified with 33 of those being "class A" targets. "Class A" targets are those most likely to be kimberlite pipe structures. A program of target prioritization is under way through the use of data stacking. Micrex is overlaying aeromagnetic data over topographic, seismic and air photo interpretation. Results from this phase of the exploration effort are expected by mid-February 1998. Those anomalies giving the most expression throughout the data set will be given top priority as drilling targets. This present work covers only one half of the Micrex holdings in the area. Further aeromagnetic work is contemplated on the remainder of the Micrex lands in the spring of 1998. Micrex is actively seeking joint venture partners to assist in the exploration effort. Micrex Development has a 100% interest in 500,000 acres on selected lands along the Peace River Arch, a regional structure that may be the primary control for the distribution of the Ashton and Monopros kimberlite pipes. Moreover, much of the land overlies the Chinchaga Terrane which is interpreted as representing an accreted Archean craton. The Alberta Research Council has rated the Chinchaga Terrane as one of the more favourable areas for diamond exploration along with the Buffalo Head Craton that underlies the rapidly developing and spectacular Ashton discovery. The discovery of indicator minerals including diamonds on claims bordering Micrex claims lends credibility to that assessment. Further information may be obtained from Perry Meszaros or S.E. Marshall at (403) 448-0922 or visit our Web Site: www.mixcorp.com.
