No, because as we are seeing play out right now, one man's peaceful protest can become another man's armed assault, if Democrats choose to lie about that, too.

Respectfully, I think you're being just a bit too willing to go with what these Democrats are doing.

When a Republican goes off the rails, I try hard to consider what happened in the context of constitutional concerns. That's not the only filter, but it is a critical one.

Any suggestion of limiting speech right now has to be considered in the context of what is going on around us. I'm confident the encroachments on free speech aren't lost on you, even though they are not thus far government acts. It ought to be clear, however, that there are legislators in the majority who would clamp down on free speech in a microsecond if they are allowed to get away with it.

There are, as have been pointed out, some on the Left who getting extremely concerned about this as well. I don't think I posted it here, but Matt Taibbi had another stellar piece yesterday on calls to shut down Fox News Channel, the sole remaining television news outlet which is not beholden to any political party.

Americans ought to be acutely aware of what is going on with these attacks by the leftist media against the unapologetic media. While Fox is buried in leftism (with Chris Wallace in control of Sunday morning and a heavy panel of leftists on the daily evening show) they are all there is to counterbalance all other network news shows. Some other channels are trying to develop into credible opposition to the left, they are struggling.

If we seem overly protective about free speech at this moment, I believe it is a justifiable concern for those who lean right.
