Experts say Covid could become endemic —
here’s what that means for you

In a February survey of more than 100 immunologists,
infectious-disease researchers and virologists, almost
90% said that SARS-Cov-2, the virus that causes Covid,
will become endemic.

That means that there’s a “constant presence and/or usual
prevalence of a disease or infectious agent in a population
within a geographic area,” according to the Centers for
Disease Control. Influenza, for example, is an endemic
respiratory illness in the U.S., and there are four other
endemic types of coronaviruses that cause the common
cold.

I got my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine this afternoon. No ill effects.

The fact that I am now vaccinated will not alter my behavior. I will continue to socially distance and wear a mask when I venture out in public. There are still too many un knowns.

It is reassuring to know that Bill Gates can now track me through that little microchip that was so thoughtfully included with the vaccine.
