There wouldn't be a Covington if the sector hadn't grown, in spite of CYRIX/NSM. I don't have hard facts on this but I think the sub-1000 sector was a giveaway until it started to grow and gain attention. Then it became worthy of competing in. At that point Intel re-grouped, addressed the sector and here we are. It seems well calculated (and swift) to me.
