Respond to of 217750 I am a bit more optimistic than that... Just not very much. The politicians put themselves in charge of making medical decisions for you a long time ago... Why would anyone trust them ? They're scientific illiterates. They put politics ahead of health as the reason for putting themselves in charge. And the "experts" they select are Mengelian political selections. However, in spite of their official failings... science marches on... it just requires a bit more work these days to parse the politically correct bull shit, and ignore the filters they seek to impose, in order to obviate the noise... while seeking the truth. Mostly the virus requires you not be deficient in vitamins C, D and zinc... while having a few helpers of the zinc will be useful, so quercitin and berberine since they disallow hydroxychloroquine... since it is known that it works... Some elderberry can't hurt anything. But none of that supports the political goal of making a lot of money for drug companies... even while still being perfectly effective, in combination, as a prophylactic. The spread would likely have ended a long time ago... if they'd simply admitted past error and bumped up the daily requirement of vitamin D and zinc in everyone's diet... at least for the duration. The public hygiene issue of wearing a mask... is mostly more political BS. It's not that "masks don't work"... its only that the masks they tell you that you should be using... don't work. An N95 mask has a pore size large enough that the virus isn't stopped by it. For that, you need to wear an N100 mask... and no one is stopping you from doing that ? As they require you to wear one... maybe you should wear one that works, and lower your personal risks more than they intend ? But, there should be a vaccine out this summer that addresses targets high enough in the genome of the virus... that the proteins targeted are ubiquitous enough and not that malleable... that it should provide broad protection without the risks... either the risk of the mutant strains avoiding it... or the risk of having even more negative interactions with future viruses... which are risks being created by the current vaccines. Since taking care of yourself, wearing a mask, and risk avoidance... works... there's not a reason for me to go rushing out to get the first vaccines. I'll wait for the one that works best with least risk... noting how long it took for people to notice the problems with the current vaccines... and waiting that much longer once it arrives.
