I think the DEC announcement has certainly hut CPQ's price over the short term. The market doesn't like risk, and the DEC merger has plenty of risk. The question I have is what CPQ mngt. will do to turnaround the DEC business - they haven't been able to do themselves for years.

In the long term I have confidence the CPQ team will be able to integrate DEC and make it a more efficient business. They should be announcing big layoffs of upper DEC management once the deal is finalized.

Patience, patience... long term investors will win. Traders beware.
