Japanese Holdings of US Debt Declined After Posting Record

"Japanese investors' holdings of US Treasury securities declined
to $318.2 billion as of Nov.30 after posting a record of $321.2
billion on Aug.31, US Treasury figures showed.

Japanese investors are the largest holders of US government
debt after the United Kingdom and Germany.

As of Nov. 30, Japanese holdings accounted for 24.7 percent
of all Treasury securities held by international investors, down
from 25.1 percent as of Aug.31, the figures showed.

International investors held a total of $1.289 trillion in Treasury
securities as of Nov. 30, Treasury figures showed. That's
37.8 percent of the total amount outstanding in private hands
at the time."
