tell that to the people who lose their jobs
also, most of those jobs ARE necessary, but they are being replaced with cheaper kiosks and DIY lanes
which costs more than $8/hr .. but less than $15/hr.
Minimum wage jobs are not meant to be a living
they are meant to be temporary or as a second job . . . mostly as a learning experience for teenagers and young adults (YA).
I have two YA that are making good money (minimum wage) to pay for their car & food & fun expenses while going to college
They don't LIVE on that wage because their dad pays for their other living expenses (house, utilities, other stuff).
I have two friends (they are sisters) in their 20's living on their own .. working 3 minimum wage jobs between them (2 + 1) and they live fine paying rent, food, clothes, cars, fun.
You can't expect to have kids, only one parent working a minimum wage job while the other doesn't work and live the American Dream
The American Dream is to start with that minimum wage job and learn and work (hard) your way up.
NOT as "liberals" want it . . . to live off our government with free stuff and a forced high minimum wage.
well there . . .that's all two of my cents.
