Re: Korea

There is a decent chance I will be visiting Korea within the next month. Anyone who has questions about anything to do with Korea can feel free to post them here or e-mail me and I'll see what I can find out. Insider trading rules are relaxed over there and I have some really good sources, so let me know if I can help!

Re: CDO credit

Credit should also go to Kevin Watson and Da Cat in Da Hat who posted important CDO news over on the CDO thread.

As much as I do not like to talk about stocks,

One thing about CDO is, unlike other stocks that I own/have owned, it is true that part of the corporate philosophy is that upper management should have a stake in the future of the company.

I dumped a NJ Utility I owned for years because with the exception of Josh Weston of ADP and some dude who is the chairman of AIRCO I actually owned more stock than any given outsider on the Board of Directors.

Not so at CDO. Part of the payment for being a director is in stock. So an outside director has a vested interest in the success of the company downstream.

This was my understanding as of about 18 months ago. Today's news item does not persuade me to think that policy has changed.

TA of charts never make a stock go up.

Most likely, it was managements decision to buy 3 million shares and the IBD article that producted a nice rally today. I seriously doubt that a post on SI had that much to do with it.

Can TA make a stock price go up? Hardly.
TA is like looking at jet exhaust to determine which direction the jet is flying. The observation in no way determines the outcome in question. Trying to decide whether TA or FA made a stock move is to assume the tail is wagging the dawg (that's how we spell dog in Tejas). While both are means to prediction an end, neither are going to produce the end, at least for a stock like Comdisco.

Now if CDO hadn't gapped up 2 points at the open, we might have had a money making opp on our hands.

I'm thinking the stock should trade back to $34-35 to fill the gap and retest support, allowing a decent entry price before a major move is made.

Unless you just want to pay $37/share...don't let me stop you.

Kevin

Posting stock info.

I don't know what your experience has been, but for me more stock info goes flying by in Private messages now than I ever got involved with on a thread.

Funny how it's become a source of info where one does not get flamed for one's opinion.
