Scott, it would be a travesty to shut future conference calls to all but analysts. Here is the email I just sent to Leslie Cole.

Leslie,

As a holder of 6,000 Cymer shares, I was very reassured listening to your recent analyst conference call. In addition to giving me a much deeper insight into your quarterly results, I learned a tremendous amount about your business. I had already been recommended Cymer stock to my friends, but after listening to the conference call I redoubled my efforts.

Consequently, I was just very disturbed to read on the Silicon Investor bulletin boards that you are considering closing future conference calls to all but the analyst community. To me, this doesn't make any sense. Many, many, companies provide taped replays. Why not? It can only help to spread information.

In the latest conference call, I believe it was Dr. Akins who acknowledged that Cymer had done a lousy job of investor relations during the past year. Here is my vote for moving forward, not backward. Keep the conference calls open to all.

Rise up, fellow Cymer-scum.

<<Separately, MCA, the new PR firm, has recommended that Cymer DOES NOT publish the written transcript on the website AND that the conference calls be LIMITED to INSTITUTIONAL INVESTORS. Of course, I did not like that idea and said so. I also said that other high tech firms like XLNX not only let you listen to the CC but, participate if you call ahead. If you have thoughts about these recommendations, I suggest that you call CYMER!!!>>

I'd sure like to know WTF kind of thinking went into this recommendation. This company has information blackouts for months at a time (one reason that I decided to do the transcripts), and any move to further limit the flow would be a hostile act, IMO. I'm also not pleased to hear that they have transcripts already and are sitting on them, while I bust my butt trying to help my fellow Cymer investors glean some crumbs of information to see us through the long darkness. I am STEAMED! So, if you love me boys and girls, join me in writing to Cymer to tell them just how we noninstitutional investors (i.e. scum, apparently) view this proposal! Please be civil; we can organize the peasants-with-pitchforks phase later, if need be.
