Novell and market share

I just had a look at Computer Reseller for last week showing market share in network operating systems. Very depressing if you have hopes for Novell.

Now is their opportunity to take Groupware and integrate Netscape browser code, lower the price and go for some share of the application market on the net. Just a thought but an obvious one.

As to this market. When it collapses the post fact analysis (as in all those Soviet experts who didn't predict the collapse of the Soviet Union and have spent the last seven years explaining that away.) will feature the obvious signs that the boom was at an end in the collapse of the Asian growth market. Just like you could see 1929 if you looked at agricultural commodity prices according to one economics textbook.

Its all there and its all obvious --- after it happens. And right now I guess I must be as crazy as an investor in Kuala Lumpur.
