SBSW news from mining journals and Seeking Alpha.

Mining Review

Seeking Alpha

Don't see anyone talking about it before mid February... and don't see much evidence they discussed it before just recently... some "seat of the pants" happening in acquisitions there now, I think... which isn't a criticism given the nature of the market now. SBSW diversifying now is smart IMO... and looking at "early stage" EV growth driven energy metals makes sense... rather than over-paying for fairly valued gold miners... which they clearly have shied away from doing... joining the "wait for it" team...

Will be fascinating to see when they do try to pull the trigger on gold acquisitions. A useful thing to think about while waiting for it... as perhaps seeing it might be indicating you've been waiting too long ?

I was one of the critics of SBSW overpaying just as Seeking Alpha addresses... and look at the long term charts now ? The timing was not at a peak, in Dec 2016... which is where we're back to now... but soon after the deal was dropping into the $2s in 2018 when no one cared. Cups and handles... inside cups and handles ? It was that first event in Russian (Norilsk) acquisition of SWC / Stillwater Mining Co... in 2003 ? that got me looking for green fields explorers in SBSWs backyard... and finding none at first... but Group Ten Metals now the survivor amassing holdings through acquisitions of the efforts that followed. Worth holding a few for the long term IMO... always better bought on sale.

FWIW, the "energy metals" are suffering along with everything else in the market now...and I don't think there's been a proper quality sort done by the market yet... but, have a list of picks I'm watching... mostly lithium stocks... still very early in the trade... so the sort needs doing. But, it isn't just about lithium. Musk saying "need more nickel" because the batteries have more nickel and graphite in them than lithium... being ignored now. I rode herd on the graphite "craze" who were first on the EV futures... but that ended years ago now ? Graphite is being ignored... wrongly... when a lot of work in the sort has already been done.

My first lithium pick was CYDVF... picked up on volume spike on Sept 23... well off the highs now... waiting for it now... wondering... how low can it go ?

Other metals worth tracking too... many in which fewer are paying close attention...

Following Almonty since 2012... the one I continue to hold now...

All the rest still in "wait for it" mode... for now...

Silver, of course, too... it isn't just money any more... but is ALSO an "energy metal"... ensuring the shorts can't win the silver price battle for very much longer...

And, June 21 probably obviates "some" of that story anyway ?

Taken together, makes the next few months look like they should be some of the most interesting in the markets in a long time...
