daily MTUM vs. SPY chart and IWF vs. IWD ( growth compared to value ) -

* bulls ideally want to see MTUM outpace the SPY price performance

* the two ratios now reside below their 50-day EMA for multiple days, which
bodes for higher odds US equities are potentially vulnerable
to further price damage while the condition lasts

Cyclical sectors pacing the advance, but S&P 500 running into resistance

Dow +304.15 at 32136.89, Nasdaq +77.22 at 13151.06, S&P +21.89 at 3897.33

The S&P 500 is trading higher by 0.6% amid gains across all 11 of its sectors.
The cyclical sectors have the leadership edge right now.

Namely, the energy (+1.3%), financials (+1.2%), materials (+1.2%), and consumer discretionary (+1.2%)
sectors are up more than 1.0%.

To be fair, the out performance of the consumer discretionary sector is in part due to Tesla (TSLA 697.38, +23.39, +3.5%),
which is building on yesterday's 20% gain.

The area to watch is the 3900 level for the S&P 500 since it's acted
as strong resistance this month.
The benchmark index is currently trading three points below the key technical level
after trading above it at its session highs.
