Al, thanks for you message. I've been digging deeper since my post asking for information. At least one analyst thinks that Kelley will issue stock in order to beef up the balance sheet. That would solve the balance sheet problem perhaps, but will dilute future earnings.

Current energy prices are weighing the stock down, as you suggested, even with 40% of their output hedged. Kelley at this point is really a play on future energy (especially gas) prices. Gas supplies are much tighter domestically than people realize. Any dramatic change in the weather (cold in the winter, hot in the summer) could boost gas consumption and prices as well.
