Ramsey, seems indisputable that big money flows into the mutual funds, combined with (short-lived?) euphoria in SEA markets, are the drivers behind today's fun and games. I still don't know how one applies this in day to day market decisions, however. For example, tech stocks are 'supposed to be' weak in December, but no matter cause there's the "January effect". Well, hell, best I can tell December was a stinker and January was no party, so what's this the February effect, or just a late January? Me not knowing and got way too much salt water in ears to figure out. Surfer Mike will have to stick to: finding girl he really wants to party with, wait till she's been whupped with an ugly stick by all the other fellas, and then gettin hitched up. All the guys were yapping at the Q a while back and said the old girl was only a $46 date. Well damned if I didn't buy a wrist corsage or two, she said "I do" and it was off to the beach. OTOH, I asked LSI out @$32, she said yes, and it was off to the paramedics. I mean there are ugly sticks, and then there are fugly sticks, if you follow my drift. So, I locked LSI in closet cuz too scary to take her out in public--looking prettier now but still not ready for prime time. Will tell wife in new century when (and if) original cost basis is exceeded. Stochastics, monthly higher highs, RSI, triangles, head and shoulders (is this a shampoo?), and sheep intestines equal in value, IMO, plus reminds me of flashing 12:00 on VCR--right twice a day, guaranteed! Tech stocks are cool cause they always get beaten up real bad at some point plus it gives my ego a stroke to go counter to the sage of Omaha cuz I can proudly state that I have never bought the stock of a company whose product I could even vaguely comprehend, never mind understand. Coca Cola, See's Candy, McDonalds--a portfolio for wussies say I. Give me an asymtotic erlang served straight up, er, orthogonally any day. What do you think Ramsey? I call it the John Wayne school of investing. Mike Doyle
