--Maybe we need an NFT ?--

would that be to take a photo of the jersey and then sell the online photo for way more than the real collectors jersey is worth?

The subject has been studied enough...

Inside the art market

Art Prices as Business Cycle Indicator

And I've seen both sides of that play out as advertised... art lovers buy and hold like it was FNV... and art traders buy low sell high... or plan to and try to... while both are easily caught in being over come by events, more often during late stage tails in economically stressful times...

But, a new category seems necessary... bubbles in digital currencies driving bubbles in digital art... of questionable merit if not of questionable provenance... which suggests a bifurcation into two economies is occurring, without anyone paying it that much attention...

Maybe the best bets in the Levi Strauss view of the emergence of a digital economy based on digital mining are in digital properties to buy with digital $ ? Wealth as gold, art, property... ?
