As I stated in my original posting on this subject, I believe that the Bloomberg quote may be based off of matrix pricing. In other words, they know the approximate spread the bond should trade over some index, and they back out the appropriate pricing.

In general, you cannot deal off of Bloomberg bond prices. You must call your broker to do a trade. In addition, most bonds are not exchange traded, so one dealer's quote may be quite different from another's. Their price will depend on whether or not they have the bonds in inventory, how nervous the trader feels about continuing to hold the bonds, and how expensive it will be to acquire more.
