In effect he would turn his position into three corporate entities, and he would keep the OS company, the others he would sell or not vote. It would forestall DOJ actions, and the values of the three parts would exceed the value of MSFT now. Of course the two without the OS cash flow would have to rely on products that competed in the market place, but they would get a split of MSFT Cash and other assets to get them off to a running start.
It would put paid to any further DOJ meddling, and might be abetter way than fighting for the next 20 years.
