Getgo,

This is as wishy washsy as one gets.

The steeet may assume that Ascend is getting a lot of NN's market share. The street may assume that the demand in the market is weak.

I feel CSCO is presently overpriced. I doubt an earnings shortfall with them will affect many other networkers, Clearly, I have no idea.

I feel downside for Ascend is minmial as is upside. Sideways moves. That is true with COMS too.

Glenn

BAY beats the number by 2 cents and the stock dropped almost $3 dollars after the earnings release. I expect CSCO will do the same (profit taking) if they just meet the number. If they miss the number (which I don't expect to happen), then they will be crashed like ORCL in December. I think most analysts will focus on the foreward quarters. Many research papers including IDB predict some slow down in the netowrk equipments in '98, so it will be very interesting to find some clues from Cisco's earnings.

just my 2 cents
