Re <<what a stupid ineffectual reply by Garneau>>

... likely because of stupidity borne of lacking cerebral acuity and volition criticality, and enhanced by ignorance further clouded by mental blindness, but as in the case of other Canadian officials, now committed to continue lying, even as they hedge w/ what they believe are hedge words, firm in belief that the rest of the planet are as moronic. Done Canada no favours.

The situation is not looking promising, as the sham exposed to all for view, for on the one hand Meng shall go free by action of law or no law, one or another way, and the several Canadians, pushed by the wants of Team Canada, shall experience CCP court. Should they the spies be proven guilty, and likely the clear proof already in hands of evidence collected in accordance w/ the law even as the laws might be considered harsh, and Meng be proven innocent on lack of credible case, very bad outcome for the Canadians, in court and in elected official positions. In such a case, forget about the spies going home until after appropriate regime-change in Canada.

Very interesting, the court proceeding in China should be, and clear that Canadian officialdom is heavily pressuring Team USA for help to prevent the situation from becoming embarrassing

For the other side, CCP does not embarrass and now gunning for the bullseye. Drama.
