My argument is not that YHOO is cheap, but that stocks that are overvalued and heavily shorted (in bull markets) tend to keep going up much longer than most would expect.

Your trying to argue that YHOO is overvalued (no argument from me) and I'm trying to argue that you better fasten your seatbelt becuase people thought that it was overvalued at 40. Then they thought it was overvalued at 50. Then 60, and it went to 71.

If by all traditional measures YHOO was overvaluied 20 points ago, why didn't it stop going up then? What's going to make it drop again? How do you know that it won't go up another 20 points before it crashes? It's obvious that overvaluation is not the deciding factor. The only reason the stock dropped to 58 was weakness in the market and the actual selling or perceived selling of Softbank and others. The fear or reality of an increased supply. I suppose people waiting for 1998 to realize gains was another reason. (It was one of the main reasons I shorted)

I realize some people on this thread have shorted a certain amount and will hold it to $100 or more as long as they think it will crash eventually. I'm not talking to those types of people. I'm talking to the people that are complaining about YHOO not dropping today or tomorrow or yesterday.

I can see a strong case for YHOO rising in the near-term. The case for YHOO's overvaluation has been made dozens of times. (including me). I think it's much more interesting to try to anticipate and analyze the short-term movements while some of you are waiting for the peak to be acheived.

I started out with the same intentions as many on thread. Just short some YHOO and wait until the party stops. Just keep telling myself that even if YHOO goes to 87 1/2 like NSCP it will come crashing back down to 15 just like NSCP. Well I can thank all of you shorts for changing my mind. I have never heard so much screaming and frustration by shorts in my life. That tells me YHOO goes higher.

As soon as most of the shorts scramble to cover and throw their hands up in frustration I will re-enter my short position. Heck, if even the bears hibernate for just a week I will probably re-enter my short.

All I still hear is "why is YHOO going up?" As long as people say that it will probably continue higher.
