I agree that nothing will take place quickly and that all will be well planned. I also agree with your prior comments that CPQ and DEC have been thinking about this a long time and already have significant plans. In addition, until companies combine they legally can't do anything.

I think if a DEC PC was like a Compaq PC, i.e., high quality at low price, then many would want it. Ability to purchase full line of DEC PCs, as well as other DEC equipment, over internet would be quite attractive. Cisco sells highend, sophisticated equipment that way and makes extra high margin doing it.

I agree that this whole idea falls on its face if DEC doesn't change, but I don't really think that will happen. Do you?
