I hope we can at least agree that the Biden Administration to date has been a disaster, figuratively and literally. That's what matters.

OMG! Of course not.

there is underway an effort to eliminate all vestiges of a two-party system.

To the extent that's the case, it's that your party is the party of no. This is like PPACA revisited, where the GOP objected to what was going forward yet more than ten years later still has not come up with any notion of a replacement. The GOP is bereft of ideas. It seems content to compete on the basis of bringing down the other guys, not building up a following for its own ideas. We don't know what it stands for, only what it's against.

I am as sorry about that as I would be were I a Republican. We need a functioning second party.

What? Are you crazy? We finally get normal president instead of lying psychopath. And this is great.

That's what matters. The damage is done, and there is underway an effort to eliminate all vestiges of a two-party system. If you can't see it, there is no hope. I do sense many of my Democrat friends are not feeling great about their choice (well, one is still indicating he chose the best of two "shit sandwiches").
Existing two-party system is horrible. Unfortunately, there is no way to add a real competitive third party.
You and your friends are working very hard by converting this system into one-party system. You do it by destroying Republican party - by giving it as a gift to Trump.
Now Trump party is a party of walking dead - a party of zombies. Trump is a political corpse who pulls his party into his grave, and possibly the rest of the country with him.
