I don't think there are any technological hurdles that are uniquely insuperable... but tech risk grows with time.

The element of fitting 'what's possible" to a real world in which conflicts limit the technological possibility ?

I did get a chuckle out of... "making it easier to patch smart contract vulnerabilities"... as, if they were smart ?

And, all of that having to occur under the shadow of... "they could just take us out at any moment"... as my own "been there, done that" experience...

I think the whole thing, at this point, a bit too contrived to survive..

The original ideas were "outside the box" enough to be made possible because that crazy... The entire enterprise has now been dragged back inside the box... swapping risks. If any of it does succeed, little stopping the guys with the gold now from just taking it.... declaring themselves legitimate and others not... and, then, yes... by opposing them you just did their R&D for free...

Other concerns most ignore... popped up here today... all very relevant in a digital ecosystem that is increasingly unlikely to be effective in crafting boundaries between "devices"...

We see the world from inside bubbles... but the bubbles are artifacts of our focus... not real.
