A rising tide lifts two boats... the Ever Given and the U.S. Dollar...

Gold holding steady as the dollar rises... is the same as gold going up versus everything else but USD ?

Missed it before... but noted today... that one of the reasons for enabling trading in derivatives based on bitcoin... might be not only to enable the use of derivatives to manipulate bitcoin... but to use it in tethering other derivatives trades to bitcoin derivatives... The bias built into crypto... that operates outside of market rules for preventing frauds in fixing steadily rising prices... which is exactly as it used to be done in stock boiler rooms... ? Having that function hardwired into crypto... then crafting linkages to it in derivatives... is exactly the same thing as undoing the rules preventing it...

Use stockcharts... plot charts of your favorite indexes... and before you check them, make a guess from what you know of recent market performance... how well that performance correlates to BTC ? I used the correlate function on stock charts to compare them with GBTC...

Not surprised at what I see... only surprised it took me that long to figure it out...
