The defense attorney doesn't have much to work with yet. The video shows Chauvin kneeling hard on the guy's neck for almost ten minutes. I think he murdered him. But I don't think it had anything to do with so-called systemic racism. I think it had to do with Chauvin being a bad cop and an asshole.

I believe that Floyd died of an overdose, likely due to consuming drugs he had on him - hoping to have fewer charges against him (just a guess). But, watching the video, as he lay on the ground, moaning and gradually going silent - he did NOT need to be restrained by a knee on his neck, while Chauvin was staring around, with his hand in his pocket. If you’re an officer holding a person in this position - not paying attention is not an option.
