The end times folks say Damascus will be hit. I'm agnostic on the subject of the end times.

Isaiah 17:1-3 1A prophecy against Damascus: "See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins.

We differ on this one, Bill. *If* they do nuke Israel, there is no doubt that the response would be in kind. But, mullahs or no mullahs, I don’t think they would do that. They are excellent at leveraging. Even when they’re a third world sh*thole, they have everyone trembling in their boots. Just wait till they get nukes. As their chief Ayatollah said - why should they nuke Israel if simply dangling nukes over them may win the war? Instead of immigration, they would have a steady emigration. All people like to live and prosper - rather than have nukes hanging over them and their families.

Of course, our strategists don’t “believe” what the chief Ayatollah openly says in his books.

If Iran gets nukes I see them taking out Tel Aviv.

The left views that as desirable and a few million Persians is a price they are willing to pay

Iran's Moslem ideology is conquest of Israel and all other infidels. Iran said that Israel is a 2 bomb problem = Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Iran accepts that Israel would destroy lots in Iran but plenty would remain.

Iran has megatons of oil and has no need for megatons of uranium.

Iran plans to build a pipeline to India at huge cost and with strategic risk of it being tolled by Pakistan or Afghanistan.

Instead of burning the gas in new thermal power stations in India, it could be burned in thermal power stations in Iran. The nuclear power station could be built in India instead of Iran, then Iran's power station would be less of a bombing target, there would not be an expensive pipeline being tolled or damaged. India already has atomic bombs so they don't need a power station for more.

The only reason for Iran to want a uranium power station is to make atomic bombs. They are either morons and can't understand these ideas or they want to bomb Israel as they say. Maybe Iraq too. Saddam did a major attack on them.

Israel will have to have a war with Iran before Iran is ready to launch or deliver some other way. Israel could do demonstration high altitude explosions over Tehran and demand destruction or removal of any uranium activities.

Other ideas welcome.

China will back Iran, like North Korea, to give USA more to worry about and to keep supplies up from Iran.

Kim the Fatter might sell ready-made atomic bombs and rockets to Iran. He would need Made in China approval to do that.

The 21st century is going to have nuclear war. Hopefully a little one.

Climate Change aka Global Warming aka Greenhouse Effect will go out of fashion because there's more benefit than problem from CO2 at 500 ppm. Probably 700 ppm too but getting that much will be too hard. People dislike buying oil gas, coal. If they can get cheaper energy such as via photovoltaics or efficiency they will.

Sea level rise due to bolide or tsunami is the only sea level rise to worry about. Those are easily 5 metres or 100 metres in 1 second. 0.2 metres in 100 years is nothing. Annoying in Venice but not many other places.
