You are working overtime to defend the media's outrageous actions. Or inactions, whatever.

Recent survey by Edelman found that fewer than half of Americans believe the media, the lowest number ever recorded in the 20 years they've been polling it.

"The Edelman survey found that 58 percent of Americans think 'most news organizations are more concerned with supporting an ideology or political position than with informing the public.' And 56 percent of people believe the fourth estate is 'purposely trying to mislead people by saying things they know are false or gross exaggerations.'"

Just because you don't know if anyone asked doesn't mean they weren't asked. You would only know they were asked if the press reported that they asked. And they would only report that they asked if they got an answer worth reporting. Sure, they could have gotten something and killed it. But it's not logical to conclude that they killed it because you haven't heard that they asked.
