They can do anything they want. Also they tax it when you die. And don't forget about what you pay into Social Security and Medicare. Soc. sec, cuts off at a certain income level, but Medicare tax goes all the way to the top. I shudder to think how much Medicare tax Mr. Gates pays! It's terribly dishonest that the govt doesn't call Soc Sec a tax, since it is spent by the government and not saved or invested for the contributor. If an employer did this with his employee's pension or profit sharing money, he'd be in the big house, where many of our pols ought to be for this travesty.
