CSCO announces earnings tomorrow. It's likely the networking stocks will go up since CSCO is expected to report decent numbers. I have not followed NN very closely but it seems the major problem is from UB Network division. If so, why can not NN just get rid of UB? If NN in Canadian network industry is like 3Com or ASND or BAY in the US, I will definitely jump in as soon as the chart shows the sliding trend stops.

Of course, I've never understood what makes the market move on a daily basis, so I could be way out in left field.

Pat,

My sentiments exactly. What is remarkable, to me, is how I can be wrong on daily/weekly moves so often (more than 50% of the time). I can see the trend, but I cannot for the life of me time the trend.

Pat,

Since ASND acquired CSCC, ASND now competes against NN in the
frame relay and ATM business. ASND has already reported
good growth in their frame relay and ATM businesses this Q and the
forward guidance from the last conference call was positive.
NT is also reporting good sales in their broadband division
so ATM sales are still health. This should be viewed as a
company specific problem.
