not actually because history is long and never-ending enough, and one can always pick start-end points more convenient to any debate, which I do not recommend, as given china's history, there are many and likely too many start-end points to pick from for which ever discussion one might choose to reckon.

as to any perceived disadvantage, eventually turn into pluses, and any perceived advantage has offsetting issues

for example, re population count, can be noted that given china's population count, tasks that much more challenging, even as once pointed in the right direction and inertia overcome, an advantage

as far as per capita anything, much of anything big needs doing likely not about per capita anything but more to do w/ absolute numbers, etc etc

time shall tell, but so far okay
